Having completed significant treks myself, including the UNESCO Dual Pilgrim of Camino + Kumano Kodo and the 1500 km Shikoku Pilgrimage in Japan, I have developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and the beauty of nature.

Day 1: Upon arrival in Taipei, you will be greeted by an airport pick-up service for your convenience. Your adventure begins at Neidong National Forest Recreation Area, renowned for its stunning waterfalls and natural beauty. Following this, you will explore Wulai Old Town, where you can enjoy a specialty lunch featuring local hot springs. In the evening, prepare to be mesmerized by the breathtaking views from the Taipei 101 Observatory, where you can take in the city skyline illuminated at night.
Day 2: On this day, you will head to Sun Moon Lake, with a travel time of approximately 3.5 hours. Your first stop will be the Earthquake Museum of Taiwan, where you can learn about the region’s geological history. In the afternoon, you will explore the serene surroundings of Sun Moon Lake, visiting sites such as Went Temple and other picturesque landmarks. For the night, you will stay at a charming bed and breakfast located next to the lake, allowing you to soak in the tranquil ambiance.
Day 3: Start your day early to catch the breathtaking sunrise over Sun Moon Lake. Afterward, you can enjoy a scenic bike ride around the lake (a 30 km round trip) or choose to take advantage of ferry options for a more relaxed experience. A visit to Zhushan Zinan Temple awaits, where you can partake in the unique tradition of borrowing “lucky money” from the temple. You will return to Taipei in the late afternoon, around 5 PM, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of a night market for dinner. You’ll stay at conveniently located Taipei City hotel, resting up for another day of exploration.
Day 4: On your final day, you will take a visit to Jiantan Mountain for breathtaking views of Yuanshan Hotel. Your itinerary then includes a visit to the National Palace Museum, home to an extensive collection of Chinese art and artifacts. Following this, you can explore the serene Nung Chan Monastery, a place of tranquility and reflection.

Your tour of Japan begins with an immersive exploration of the cultural and historical treasures in Kyoto. Starting from the beginning of January, you will arrive via a convenient flight and train transfer, settling into your stay at a centrally located hotel next to Kyoto Station. Over the next few days, you will visit iconic sites such as the Sanjusangendo, Kiyomizu Dera Temple, and indulge in the rich traditions of Gion. You’ll also witness a special event at the Kamomioya-jinja and explore the natural beauty of the Saihoji moss garden. Additionally, you will enjoy staying at a traditional Kyoto-style townhouse, which offers an authentic experience of Japanese living. A day trip to the historic city of Nara is included to further enrich your experience of ancient Japanese culture.
Following your stay in Kyoto, you’ll travel to Hiroshima, where you will reflect on history at the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. This part of your journey includes a serene visit to Shukkeien Garden and a memorable stay in the city of Hiroshima. Transitioning from Hiroshima to the picturesque island of Miyajima offers a chance to explore the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site, while staying in a traditional Japanese ryokan. A ropeway ride and leisurely exploration of Miyajima provide delightful insights into the local culture and natural beauty before proceeding to the bustling city of Tokyo.
In Tokyo, your itinerary blends modern urban life with historical explorations, staying at a relaxing hotel near Tokyo Station, ideally located for discovering the city. Your experience will be filled with vibrant city sights, and you may extend it by visiting nearby cultural attractions such as bonsai gardens in Saitama, the scenic and historic city of Nikko, and renowned museums like the Sumida Hokusai Museum and Nezu Museum. The journey concludes with a seamless departure from Haneda or Narita Airport, offering the perfect combination of Japan’s heritage, natural beauty, and contemporary charm.
